Mardi Gras Ball {Must-Haves}

Friday, February 5, 2016
Most people think of parades and Bourbon St. when you say Mardi Gras, but there is so much more than that. Our favorite Mardi Gras tradition has become attending the Zulu Ball. Mardi Gras balls are for the most part formal events. A night of dining and dancing often for the Krewe and in formal attire - what fun! Since I love any reason to put on a gown and drink, I'm sharing my Mardi Gras Ball must-haves...
Cordier Events must-haves for Mardi Gras Ball

  • Food & Alcohol - fill-up before hand or just bring your own. Either way indulge a little, it wouldn't be a Mardi Gras ball without a few cocktails and some tasty treats.
  • Tickets - you can get in without a ticket and a ticket means a table.
  • Gown/Dress - it's all about your dress. I love using Rent the Runway for my gowns. It is an affordable and worry-free way to dress for the occasion. I say go glitz or go home!
  • Hair pins - ladies a night of drinking and dancing can take a toll on any hair do so always bring a back up set of bobby pins.
  • Custom drink ware - nothing says fun and flirty like fancy stemware. My cousin makes customized drink glasses every year,  amazingly crafty which is why I love them! It doesn't hurt to decorate the table either.
  • Camera - for the selfie moments, WTFs, and OMGees you can't quite explain to people that weren't there!

The Zulu Coronation ball is a concert, gala, and giant party all wrapped up into one room. Learn more about the history of the ball http://www.kreweofzulu.com/history
