Inside My 2016 Blog Planner
Saturday, January 23, 2016
Making
and printing a blog planner is so much cheaper than buying one. Despite the gazillions of free printables in this
world I still like to make my own pages and customize my own planner. AS a full
time employee and part time blogger organization is critical for everything I
do. My planner helps me systematically plan weekly and monthly for my
blog. I organize my social media,
password access, post content, metrics, and so much more. Take a look inside my planner...
To make
my planner, I use my computer, Microsoft word, printer, and $5 for binding
services at Office Depot. I started my 2016 planner by designing the
cover. I used my blog color scheme based on my brand
style and added other features, including an inspirational quote, my name, branded
graphics, and the date.
Next I
determined what pages to include. I
wanted a monthly calendar and weekly post planning options. Using Microsoft word I saved calendars for
each month and then created a blog posting table, pages for blog ideas and to-do
lists, and a weekly checklist to keep my self on track. I also added a password keeper and notes pages. At the end of each month I wanted to track metrics and analytics, so I created a page to manage social media engagement
(twitter, pinterest, instagram), Etsy sales, web page views, keywords, and bounce rates.
I
printed copies based on the number of weeks in each month, then sorted the
pages. I printed my cover on card stock, then took everything to
Office Depot to have it spiral bound for only $4.70.
The end result is exactly what I need and will lead to successfully
blogging the rest of this year.
