{DIY} No Sew Tablet Sleeve

Sunday, November 15, 2015
Looking for a way to repurpose extra fabric or your favorite t-shirts? Do you like sewing projects but can’t sew (that’s me). If you answered yes to either of those then grab some hem tape and adhesive spray and make yourself a tablet sleeve. I have to admit, it is pretty easy to do and may save you a ton of money in the long run.

All you need is old fabric, a padded mailing envelope (that fits your device) and adhesive in the form of spray and/or hem tape. I used instructions from Cotopaxi along with some french themed fabric left over from a wedding project. I made my tablet sleeve in about 30 minutes.  The end result was pretty awesome.  And now the next time my case breaks or fades I can make a personalized one-of-a kind version.

DIY Sleeve Materials

side 1-spray adhesive (make sure you use outdoors)

french fabric iron hem tape
side 2- using hem tape to reinforce

all sides added

trimming edges

French fabric covered iPad
finished product with my iPad
You could easily add iron transfers with your name if you want to customize. Just do so before you glue everything down. These could make great DIY gifts for your kids or spouse, repurposing their old clothes is a great way to recycle fabrics that you can't donate. Happy crafting folks!
