Motivational Monday (MakeItHappen)

Monday, March 9, 2015
March 8th was International Women's Day and this weekend was the 50th anniversary of the March on Selma and I wanted to do something to celebrate the achievements of women and African Americans; acknowledging how far we still have left to go on all fronts.

I want to show my respect, appreciation, and love for all women and acknowledge that our economic, political, and social achievements are important. We can accomplish so much more if we celebrate each other and uplift each other on a regular basis.

I also want to support my black heritage and pay tribute to those that have marched and fought before me for the freedoms and civil rights I hold so dear.

So to my fellow women out there and my brothers and sisters in the fight I ask that you show each other love! Compliment each other, support each other, and empower each other. Avoid criticizing each other or degrading with words or actions. Focus on the fact that we are all amazing and impactful and celebrate each other as often as you can!
Here is one of my favorite quotes by one of my favorite authors...happy Monday folks, if you haven't been told today, you are worthy and valued!
