This month's affordable event is black history month themed. A few weeks ago a friend sent me
100 Must-See African-American films. I decided after reviewing the list that a movie night was in order!!! Movie nights are great (affordable) events to have that you can customize for just about any occasion. Take a look...

Our black history movie night was a marathon of fun! It started mid-day so we could watch a few films and have time to talk and discuss in between! I made cinnamon + sugar roasted
chickpeas and homemade sweet potato chips because I had the ingredients in my
pantry. You can serve whatever snack foods float your boat! Throw in a few Izze drinks and some girl scout cookies and it's officially a party!
The most important thing about movie
night is the film selection and comfort of your guests. We made sure to have a large selection
and let our guests vote on which films they wanted to watch. We also made sure we
had plenty of blankets and pillows on hand (and one comfy couch).
As an added touch and to make sure my
hardwoods didn’t end up with food stains or cup rings, I made my guest their
own black history themed placemats. Some had quotes; others had black iconic
figures. It was a simple DIY laminated placemat and a great party favor. I have
2 extras (see photos) that I will give away. Just leave a comment on this post for
a chance to win!

*I had an increasing number of questions for planning ideas and
events for the budget savvy. I thought why not start a reoccurring feature of
budget and bargain friendly parties, soirees, and more. Our Affordable Events
series is design on a dime the Cordier Events way! We welcome comments,
feedback, and your personal ideas or party creations.
Having read this I believed it was rather informative.
ReplyDeleteI appreciate you spending some time and effort to put this content together.
I once again find myself spending a significant amount of time both reading and posting comments.
But so what, it was still worthwhile!
