Mtn Getaway: January {Affordable Events}

Tuesday, January 28, 2014
We are kicking off the New Year with a mini-vacation themed affordable event. January is all about the Mountain cabin getaway! Within driving distance destinations can be a fun and affordable way to have a good time!

Mountain Excursion: Cabin Getaway

A couples trip is a great way to have a good time, minimize costs, and enjoy a long holiday weekend.  This is a great alternative to a full-blown vacation! Here is how we made our mini-vacation affordable!

VenueBlue Ridge Mountains, Georgia
Date: Jan 17 -19 (MLK holiday weekend)
Total Cost: $75 -$100 (or more depending on your cabin selection and # of guests)

Supplies:
·       Warm clothes
·       Food (each couple was responsible for  breakfast | lunch| dinner for one day)
·       Wine
·       Board Games
·       Gas
·       Cabin ($175 per night divided by 6+ people)

Canadian Lodge - Blue Sky Cabin Rentals

To reduce costs several couples split meal responsibilities; each couple on our trip was responsible for one day of meals only. We also each brought our favorite movies and board games to help pass the time. Remove yourself from city distractions, light a few candles, and spend some quality time with people you love!  Cabin life can be as simple or complicated as you make it, so do what brings you joy. Be sure to pack warm clothes if you are visiting during winter months and I never leave home without my own towels or sheets (germaphobia is a thing and I might have it)!

*I had an increasing number of questions for planning ideas and events for the budget savvy. I thought why not start a reoccurring feature of budget and bargain friendly parties, soirees, and more. Our Affordable Events series is design on a dime the Cordier Events way! We welcome comments, feedback, and your personal ideas or party creations.
