I
decided to take a page from the Martha Stewart play book and make some
personalized favors for an upcoming dinner party. I wanted something simple, easy to customize
to my theme, and functional. I decided
to make glitzy cork coasters.

Prep your patterns - Add painters tape in alternating strips or use reinforcement stickers to make polka dots. You can also use stencils or stickers to spell words or names for a personalized effect.

Paint – paint the exposed parts of the coaster in the colors you want using acrylic paint or mod podge glitter mixture (depending on the look you want). Apply 1-2 coats.

Patience – allow the painted portions to dry (I waited 2 hours to be safe), then remove the tape, stencils, or reinforcements.

Step
back and say Ta-da! Your magic is complete! I stacked my coasters and wrapped
with ribbon; planning to use them as place cards and party favor
take-aways. This was such a fun craft project and I hope my guests enjoy the final product!
Looks great! Would love to see you do a wine cork project. I have a bag full. I want to make a cork board, but I have more than enough for something else crafty.
ReplyDeleteThat can be arranged! I have a ton of wine corks that I also need to put to good use.
