Jungle Baby Shower Prep
Tuesday, February 26, 2013
It is t-minus 4 days and counting until this month’s Jungle Baby Shower. I have been working on decorations for this theme and of course finalizing all the details. Planning baby showers are so much fun, but they do require quite a bit of detail orientation. Here is what I’m working on in my final days of preparation (helpful hints for any baby shower “week of” to do list)!
Decoration Prep - Finalizing homemade decorations (i.e. printing banners, folding streamers, making diaper cakes, stuffing gift bags, wrapping cutlery, and getting game supplies)
Food/Menu – 2-3 days prior (today) I’m shopping for last minute perishable food items (in this case sandwich meats and breads, fruit, and veggie tray stuffers)
· This event isn’t being catered so it is important to give yourself 2-3 day buffer so food doesn’t spoil and to troubleshoot if certain menu items aren’t available
Guest Reminders – emailing guest on Wednesday as a reminder of this event. I am including important details like parking, directions, and baby registry info; I am also planning to post to the Facebook page I created for this event.
Designate Help – I have been working with friends of the Mom-to-Be on some of the details of this shower. Having an extra set of hands is always a plus but we needed to coordinate set-up and break down and who is bringing what.
My event day checklist includes:
¨ Order Pickup – picking up balloons (pre-ordered from Party City), cake and any items being prepared elsewhere
¨ Face-Time – not via iphone but in real life meet-up with friends providing assistance (assign remaining tasks)
¨ Set-Up – setting up tables and chairs; dressing tables with centerpieces and hanging decorations (at least 2 hours before)
¨ Food and Beverage Service – plating food and chilling drinks (put on ice 45 minutes prior to event start time)
¨ Welcome guests and enjoy – having fun and playing games
I can’t wait for this shower; it’s going to be sooo much fun!!!!
